SLAMMERS FANS TO “SAVE THE CANS” WITH ALL AMERICAN RECYCLING
Joliet, IL — The Joliet Slammers presented by ATI Physical Therapy are looking to their fans to “save the cans” with All American Recycling in a breast cancer awareness game on September 5th, 2015. Fans will be able to pay for their tickets with aluminum cans that night.
With partner All American Recycling on hand, the Slammers box office will accept each aluminum can that a fan brings in lieu of one dollar to purchase their tickets as part of the “Fans Pay With Cans” promotion. Box office pricing on this special night will be as follows:
G.A. Lawn = $5.00 or 5 aluminum cans
Reserved Seat = $12.00 or 12 aluminum cans
Club Seat = $14.00 or 14 aluminum cans
In an effort to create further awareness, Slammers players will wear special pink jerseys that night sponsored by All American Recycling that will be auctioned off in a silent auction during the game.
All American Recycling is currently running a “Save the Cans” campaign to raise money for breast cancer research during Breast Cancer Awareness month this October. All American Recycling Operations Manager, Pat Lamorte, is excited to expand the current program. “We’re thrilled to have this opportunity to involve Slammers fans in our annual event, said Lamorte.”
Slammers General Manager of Operations Chris Franklin also felt now is a great time to announce this promotion. “We’re delighted to have All American Recycling as a partner for this terrific promotion. We didn’t want to wait until the end of next summer to create awareness. As the current (Breast Cancer Awareness) month wraps up, we all can contribute by participating right now in anticipation of this fun event next September.”
About Breast Cancer Awareness Month: October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is an annual campaign to increase awareness of the disease. While most people are aware of breast cancer, many forget to take the steps to have a plan to detect the disease in its early stages and encourage others to do the same. Breast cancer is a group of cancer cells (malignant tumor) that starts in the cells of the breast. While breast cancer is the second leading cause of death among women, men can also be subject to the disease. All people, whether male or female, are born with some breast cells and tissue that have the possibility to develop into cancer.
